Topics for life: The new Category Management modules from KNV Zeitfracht
KNV Zeitfracht simplifies category management and offers themed packages to support the Christmas business.
November 11, 2020 - Members of the MENSCH bookselling cooperation can now book themed packages to increase customer frequency and generate more sales. The packages each contain 40 to 60 top titles from the non-fiction and guidebook sector, which are available at discounted rates in the integrated central warehouse and are continuously updated.
KNV Zeitfracht thus simplifies the implementation of category management, which is a central component of the MENSCH bookselling cooperation. Since its foundation, KNV Zeitfracht has been continuously developing topics from the non-fiction and advice segments with the help of current market data, internal expertise and a retailer advisory board. The campaigns, which are tailored to customers, are intended to provide more variety and therefore more purchases in bookstores.
MENSCH is offering bookstores three category management modules to mark the launch of the new theme packages: Food and Drink, Health and Hobby and Creativity. A further 15 modules will be added gradually.
"It is important to us that we take the pressure off bookshops, especially in these difficult times. The new theme packages make it possible to quickly implement the benefits of category management - select a theme and off you go. Within a few days, many exciting titles are on the shelves, making the bookshop even more attractive to its customers. This effect can now be used for Christmas sales," says Marcus Vogel, Head of the MENSCH book trade cooperation. The MENSCH team plays the themes and titles in the bookstores' digital channels, such as the online store, newsletter and social media.
New for Austrian bookstores, KNV Zeitfracht is supplementing category management with titles that are specially tailored to the Austrian market. The MENSCH bookselling cooperation now comprises more than 350 member bookstores and continues to grow steadily. "We have already achieved a lot for our members and are still full of energy and ideas to implement new things to put our customers in pole position," says Marcus Vogel.
