One year under the umbrella of the Zeitfracht Group: KNV Zeitfracht on course for growth

Stuttgart/Erfurt, July 31, 2020.

KNV Zeitfracht is back on course for growth. One year after the takeover of KNV by the Zeitfracht Group, the leading logistics service provider for the book and media industry is back on a growth trajectory, recording rising sales despite the coronavirus pandemic and hiring new employees in Erfurt. KNV Zeitfracht has also opened up as a logistics service provider for other sectors.

Thomas Raff, CEO of KNV Zeitfracht: "We have realigned KNV Zeitfracht in many areas over the past twelve months. As part of the stable and reliable Zeitfracht Group, we are now excellently positioned for the future. Over the past year, we have created innovative solutions that benefit the entire book industry." In the logistics and transport sector in particular, the company has put its existing processes and services to the test, leveraged synergies and optimized processes. A special feature of the book industry is its high delivery speed. Bookshops are supplied overnight by wholesalers such as KNV Zeitfracht. KNV Zeitfracht will continue to adhere to this. However, with the newly introduced option of delivery in "36-hour cycles", KNV Zeitfracht now also offers its customers the opportunity to save on transportation costs. As an alternative to overnight delivery, retailers can choose the new "36-hour cycle" for orders that are not time-critical at lower delivery costs. KNV Zeitfracht's new extensive strategic partnership with the DPD parcel service also enables the company to offer its customers a wide-ranging service such as tracking their deliveries.

"Our industry is facing major challenges. We are happy to accept them and look for creative solutions," says Raff. "During the lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, our teams ensured that bookstores were able to fulfill their customers' wishes in the best possible way despite all the restrictions. For example, we delivered directly to the end customers of almost 1,000 booksellers, saving many smaller bookstores from a complete loss of sales and its consequences."

In future, companies from other sectors will also be able to benefit from KNV Zeitfracht's expertise. KNV Zeitfracht recently began offering complete fulfillment for manufacturers and online stores across all industries. The range of services covers the entire process chain from ordering to the delivery of products. "We will soon be welcoming the first major customer for this completely new service. The higher the capacity utilization of our logistics in Erfurt, the more our long-standing customers from the book and media industry will benefit from the synergies," says Raff.
